GAURABDA means Golden Age, symbolised by the advent of the Golden Avatara Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the most merciful incarnation of the Supreme Lord Krishna, in 1486. He promoted the chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra as the best means of salvation in this age of Kali.
Srila Prabhupada said the Golden Age will check Kali's infuence as more and more devotees chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra. It will last for 10,000 years; after which the Symptoms of Kali-yuga will manifest fully.

GAURABDA also refers to the synodic year that ends on the Golden Avatara's appearance anniversary on Purnima (full Moon) tithi of Govinda month - celebrated annually as Sri Gaura Purnima - in the Vaishnava Calendar/Panchanga system designed and implemented by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.
